Location

The Dorint hotel is situated in the heart of Trier, the oldest city in Germany, overlooking the famous Porta Negra, or black gate. The history of this city started 2000 years ago and there are many historic and traditional sites to visit within walking distance of the hotel.

Rooms

The large rooms are comfortably furnished in beige and dark brown tones. Though not particularly stylish, the decor is of a high standard, and both the rooms and the bathrooms are in very good condition. Many rooms overlook the porta negra.

Restaurant

The hotel has various restaurants, the 'Grill room', the 'Weinstube', and the hotel restaurant. The terrace restaurant on the first floor offers elegant dining with a lovely view over ancient roman ruins that are the porta negra. This is also the birth place of karl marx.

Exterior

The hotel stands in contrast with some of the ancient buildings with it's modern concrete facade. There is a casino next to the entrance of the hotel.

Lobby

The lobby is medium sized and classical in design with a Polished tile floor and wooden reception desk.

General

This hotel is superb for exploring the roman ancient remains of Trier as it is located directly opposite the famous 'Porta Nigra' gate.
