Pomurje is a synonym for wide fields, storks, water-mills, thermal springs, energy points, winegrowing hills, unique traditions and dialects, as well as culinary specialty called gibanica cake.
The tourists are attracted to the eastern part of Slovenia mostly by thermal spas, such as Radenci Spa, Terme 3000 in Moravske Toplice, Terme Lendava and Terme Banovci. A growing number of visitors are attracted to energy points along the Ivan Spring by the river Ščavnica, along the Vidov Spring and along the Bukoviško Lake.
The largest town of Pomurje is Murska Sobota, where you can find a renaissance castle in which there is a regional museum. The mansion Rakičan is known for its wine cellar and a horse center. In Bogojina is worth seeing the church of Plečnik and in the near-by Selo a Romanesque chapel.
Gornja Radgona is famous for its fair and market activities, but also for its wine cellar and its sparkling wine Radgonska penina. The center of Prlekija region is Ljutomer, where you can meet horses, horsing races, but also old craft traditions of the surrounding villages. In Veržej you can see the still operating Babič watermill on Mura River in whose vicinity you can also use the ferry over the river.
Goričko is located north of Murska sobota. In the place called Grad (Castle) is one of the largest castles in Slovenia that used to have 365 rooms and still has a garden with numerous energy points and exotic trees.
